I feel that all milestones should be celebrated. Earlier this month I was about to capture McKenzye’s Sweet 16 birthday images. Sweet 16 symbolizes a child is maturing into a young adult. During our session I was able to chat with her and I can tell she was a very mature teen. This wasn’t my first time meeting her during at her session. I initially met McKenzye when she was a toddler through mutual friends with her mom. A few months ago I was able to capture her uncle's 40th birthday images so we are keeping it in the family.

Initially, we planned to have her session at the Columbia Canal and Riverfront Park but ‘Mother Nature’ wasn’t having it. I typically arrive early enough to scope out the session location I noticed a storm quickly approaching. I called to quickly change the location before the rain arrives. We decided to meet in Downtown Columbia at Boyd Plaza in an attempt to beat the rain. Boyd plaza has recently been renovated and has so many lovely areas for images.

McKenzye arrived excited and ready for her session with some fresh braids, makeup, and a sequin dress. As you can see in her images she has a smile that will light up a room. She was very photogenic and even provided some input on the images she had in mind.

There are a few things you cant beat which is ‘Father Time’ & ‘Mother Nature’. Knowing we didn’t have a bunch of time we had to have a quick session. In total the scheduled session was supposed to be an hour but ‘Mother Nature’ only gave us about 20 minutes. I believe we were able to capture some great images in a short time frame. I cant wait to see what is in store for McKenzye as she continues to grow into an adult.
